flossie amoia, pt
Flossie earned her Physical Therapy degree in 1989 from Daemen College in Amherst, NY. She began her career working in various traditional therapy settings including Acute Care, Outpatient Orthopedics and Skilled Nursing Facilities. She relocated to Morganton, North Carolina and in 1993 began working at Grace Hospital. During her 11 years there, she treated a variety of conditions including Orthopedic, Neurological, Cardiac and Wound care, served as a clinical instructor for PT students and was instrumental in developing Grace Hospital’s Pediatric Rehab and Aquatic Therapy programs. Flossie first learned about Myofascial Release in her search for an effective treatment of her own chronic pain after suffering two devastating back injuries. Her success with this form of treatment prompted a now 23-year practice in the internationally renowned Myofascial Release technique as taught by John F. Barnes, PT. She is an Expert level clinician having completed all MFR seminars, repeated many and has also served as a seminar assistant.
In 2009, Flossie opened Rivers Edge Physical Therapy and has grown the practice to include 2 additional PT’s and an Office Manager.
In 2020 she had the opportunity to expand her current business to include Rivers Edge Health + Wellness with the intention of helping our community reach their Wellness goals.

Andrew Johnson, DPT
I am proud to be born and raised here locally in Burke county! I grew up in Valdese and graduated from Jimmy C Draughn High School in 2010 and from there I went to Wingate University for both undergraduate and then PT school, graduating in 2017. The best way to describe me is someone who is lighthearted, a people person, definitely someone who doesn’t mind a little humor in life! My passions include recreational outdoor activities (fishing/hunting) as well as weight training. I am grateful to be part of this excellent team at Rivers Edge to help people return to getting their lives back. That’s what it’s all about!

nala brose, supervisor
Her qualifications are taking long naps, barking at pedestrians and walking around making sure everyone gets their job done. Nala left us in 2020 for the rainbow bridge and will be dearly missed.
